I love a challenge and this painting gave me abundant opportunities to challenge myself! I got to be a weaver, a hairdresser, a jeweller and a beader. I got to design her shawl, invent the composition and find the beauty in her ancient face and deep, sad eyes. "What doesn't kill you makes you strong" is a mantra of mine and there is nothing outside an Eagle Woman, that is stronger than what is on the inside. A friend has told me that she calls the grey hairs at her temples her "Wings of Wisdom", hence this choice of title. I suspect that she is probably me - SEVERAL years from now!
